Mascoutah High School Dance Team 2026 Tryouts Announcement: (8th graders only)
Attention All Dancers! Get ready to be part of something exciting! Tryouts for the Mascoutah High School Dance Teams are officially set for May. Important: You must attend all four days to be considered for the team.

Congratulations to the girls and boys varsity track team for their victories Thursday night in the Mascoutah Relays. 1st place winners for the girls were May Huffman, Emmie Schmidt, Kyra Thomkpins, and MaKynzie Burns in the hurdle shuttle, the girls 4x200 relay team of Amiya Creedon, Alani Sanchez, Sa'Ryah DeReu, and Paisley Meddows, and 4x400 relay team of Alani Sanchez, Sa'Ryah DeReu, Emmie Schmidt, and MaKynzie Burns. Boys 1st place winners were Alex Epps, Harry Hilgendorf, Christion Habersham, and Jake Boehm in the sprint medley, and the 4x200 relay team of Brad Posey, Christion Habersham, Harry Hilgendorf, and Jacob Langham. JV winners were Isaiah Shumpert, Gunnar Schultz, Johnathan Griffin, and Gabe Dural in the 4x100.

Attention Drama Club Parents!
If you or your student would like to order a Matilda Jr. shirt, Drama Club is putting in a second order. Shirts are $15. Payments can be made in cash or write a check to MMS Please email Mrs. DeBusk your shirt size at debuskb@msd19.org. Orders will be due Wednesday, May 13th.
Spanish Club
Our final Spanish Club meeting will NOT take place on the third Thursday of this month, as it falls on the last day of school. Instead, we will meet next week, on Friday the 15th to accommodate field trips and other end-of-year activities.
I’m excited to celebrate the close of the year with you all as we arrive at our final destination: Colombia!
If you’re unable to attend the final meeting, please still be sure to stop by room 310 to pick up your passports and any “luggage” (projects) you may have left behind.

¡8th Grade Final Fiesta Day!
Our celebration will take place on Monday, May 18th, during regular class time. The Spanish final exam will be Friday, May 15th.
The signup sheet is on Google Classroom. Please find your name and write the item you will be bringing next to it. Make sure to double-check that you are not signing up for something someone else has already chosen.
Please make sure your selection is finalized and confirmed with a parent or guardian by Wednesday, May 13th.

NPFH: Our End of the Year Celebration (Pizza Party) and last meeting will be held next Monday, May 18th from 2:40-3:15. Bring a drink, come have some pizza, and celebrate all the great things we did this year!
Students please check the Lost & Found by the cafeteria for any missing items. All remaining items on Friday, May 22 will be donated. If you have misplaced anything smaller like glasses, keys, or jewelry please check with the front office.
Congratulations to the April Teacher of the Month, 8th grade Math teacher, Mr. Rudy. Students report that Mr. Rudy is a great teacher who is smart, funny, interesting and he makes learning fun!
Three students will be randomly selected each week for a prize if they’ve completed their agendas all week. Students will be called to the office over the intercom at random times throughout the week. If your name is called, come to the office with your agenda. If your agenda has been completed all week, including with a goal written at the beginning of the week, you will receive a swag bag full of great prizes. Good luck!
We are excited to announce this year's Summer Musical! We are doing Disney's Alice in Wonderland Jr.! This Summer Camp is open to all MSD19 students entering 5th Grade thru 8th Grade in the 2026/2027 school year (Current 4th graders thru 7th graders). We are also going to have a special spot for students entering 9th and 10th grade this year as a support cast! This Summer Camp is completely free as it is funded by a Literacy Grant. Monday June 1st thru Thursday June 18th, 8:00am to 1:00pm. The performance is on Saturday June 20th. There will be 2 performances that day at 10:00am and 1:00pm. This is a great opportunity for the current 5th graders to meet middle school friends with like interests as well as meet the Middle school Musical staff as they help with the program!

The end of the year is quickly approaching and with it, the 4th quarter reward party. Criteria to earn the reward are: Two or fewer total discipline incidents, no ISS or OSS, and no hallway behaviors.
