It’s time for a festive celebration!! Our next History Club meeting will be Monday, December 15 at the museum! Bring a friend and enjoy activities and treats!!

Our Program will kick off at 3:15 and last about an hour.

There will be a lot of different activities to choose from!  Help decorate the tree, play a board game, create a christmas card, watch a christmas cartoon, explore the museum, or enjoy some treats and hot chocolate.  Pick one or all!

The museum is located at 306 W. Main Street in Mascoutah

¡8th Grade Fiesta Day!

Our celebration will take place on December 18th, the day after the Spanish final, during regular class time.

I will share a sign-up sheet on Google Classroom with each student’s name already listed. Please find your name and write the item you will be bringing next to it. Make sure to double check you're not putting down something someone already signed up for.

Please make sure your selection is finalized and confirmed with parents or guardians by Tuesday, December 16th.

I’m excited to celebrate the end of the semester with all of you!

Spanish Club

Our end of the year festivities will take place on the third Thursday of the month after school until 3:30, on December 18th.

We’ll be “traveling” to Spain for our end-of-year celebration and experiencing how New Year’s is celebrated there; with flan, friends, flamenco and fun!

In Spain, it’s traditional to walk around the neighborhood with an empty suitcase to bring good luck and encourage more travel in the coming year. I look forward to all of the adventures and more "travels" we’ll share together next year.

¡Feliz Año Nuevo!

The 2026 MMS Scholar Bowl season is fast approaching.  Scholar bowl is a team competition where we compete 5 on 5 against other schools in the area to see who knows the most math, science, ELA, social studies, pop culture, fine arts, and sports content.  Tryouts will be held on Tuesday December 16th and Thursday, December 18th.  Practices and matches will begin in January and will be every Tuesday and Thursday after school.  Scholar Bowl is open to all students grades 6-8.  See Mr. Spaeth (room 518) to get an informational flyer and to inquire for more information.

The 2nd Quarter Reward Party, movie and a snack, will take place the week of January 5-9. Students must meet the following criteria during 2nd quarter to qualify for the party: 4 or fewer total discipline incidents and no ISS or OSS.

Three students will be randomly selected each week for a prize if they’ve completed their agendas all week. Students will be called to the office over the intercom at random times throughout the week. If your name is called, come to the office with your agenda. If your agenda has been completed all week, including with a goal written at the beginning of the week, you will receive a swag bag full of great prizes. Good luck!

Students, we’re excited to announce a brand-new way to reward positive behavior and punctuality! Starting this week, teachers will be handing out tickets to students who are caught showing great behavior in the hallways or making it to class on time. When you get a ticket, write your name on it and drop it in one of the white buckets located in your Science or Social Studies classrooms. Every Friday, we’ll draw three lucky winners from each grade level to receive a special prize! So stay positive, be on time, and you might just be one of our weekly winners.
