MES wrapped up Red Ribbon Week in the spookiest way—our Halloween Costume Dress-Up Day! 👻🕸️ From superheroes to silly pumpkins, our students and staff showed tons of creativity and school spirit. Thank you to our MES families for helping make this week so special. We loved celebrating healthy choices, kindness, and community—all with a little Halloween magic. ✨
Wishing everyone a happy and SAFE Halloween tonight—have fun, make smart choices, and watch out for little ghouls and goblins on the sidewalks! 🧡🎃

Mascoutah Community Unit School District 19 is featured as one of "The 10 Most Admired School Districts" in October's issue of The Education Magazine. Their article about MSD19 says,
"....In places where tradition meets growth, the story of a district is rarely a straight line. Instead, it becomes a reflection of both heritage and progress, carried forward by the people who call that community home.
"Mascoutah is one such place. Tucked in the heart of Illinois, it carries the character of a small rural town while sitting close to expanding suburban neighborhoods. Adding to this mix is the presence of Scott Air Force Base, which brings with it families from across the country and even the world. This blend of hometown roots, suburban energy, and global influence has shaped the Mascoutah community.... Over time, that character has given the local school district both challenges and opportunities unlike any other."
Officer Heinen came to talk to Mrs. Zaldana's and Mrs. Helf's 2nd grade class at MES. In social studies, they have been learning about what a community is and about rules and laws. Officer Heinen came to bring it to life and talk about what it looks like in an everyday life. #MESProud #19EveryStudent

🐦❤️ Tomorrow’s the Day, MES! ❤️🐦
We’re so excited to welcome FredBird and Friends to Mascoutah Elementary School on Tuesday, October 15, for a special Character Assembly! 🎉
Our students will be learning all about what it means to build great character — just like our favorite Cardinal! ⚾️💪
Let’s show our school spirit and Cardinal pride by wearing red or any St. Louis Cardinals gear tomorrow! 🔴
It’s going to be a fun and meaningful day celebrating kindness, respect, and teamwork — the MES way!
Last Thursday, October 9, our Family Literacy Night was an incredible success! Families filled the halls with excitement for reading, fun activities, and quality time together. From interactive literacy games to cozy read-alouds, the joy of learning was everywhere — and every student left with a Forever Book to continue the magic of reading at home! 💙📖
A huge thank you to our amazing staff and volunteers who made this night possible, and to all the families who came out to celebrate the power of reading.
A special shoutout goes to our fantastic Tomahawk Crew, who captured the entire event through our MES Photography Program! We love seeing our students shine and lead in so many capacities — their photos truly brought the spirit of the night to life! 📸🙌
At MES, we know that readers today become leaders tomorrow — and last Thursday proved that our community is full of both! 🌟👏
Mascoutah Elementary School would like to congratulate Miss Alexis Voyles, a fourth grade teacher at MES, whom was nominated for our Sparkle Staff award! We are so glad that Miss Voyles is a part of our team! #MESProud #19EveryStudent

🎉 What an incredible month at Mascoutah Elementary School! 🎉 From our Friday Recess Dance Parties 🪩 to students leveling up on Lexia and earning their Forever Books 📚, MES scholars have been learning, growing, and celebrating every step of the way! 🌟 Our students continue to live the MES Core Values — Be Kind, Be Honest, Be Accepting, and Be Safe — while enjoying our beautiful new outdoor classroom 🌿. We even welcomed visitors from DoDEA, who got to see firsthand the amazing learning taking place in our classrooms! We wrapped up the month with a special visit from Scooter 🐾 to celebrate raising over $27,000 through our Fall Fundraiser! 🎉 Yes, September was a long month — but it was filled with growth, joy, and achievement. 💪 We’re proud of our students and staff for all they accomplished and can’t wait to see what October brings! 🍂 Keep following us to watch our scholars continue to shine! 💜 #MESTheACADEMY #MSD19 #EVERYSTUDENTEVERYDAY
