Mr. Travis Klein, Principal

Mr. Travis Klein is a Belleville Township High School West Class of 1993 graduate. After graduation he attended Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois, earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Education in 1998.

During the years following, Mr. Klein started his career in education as a paraprofessional in a special education classroom at Emge Junior High in Belleville. From there, he quickly moved on to Grant Middle School in Fairview Heights, Illinois, where he taught seventh and eighth grade science for nine years. While teaching at Grant, Mr. Klein attended Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and earned his Master of Science in Education with a focus on Educational Administration in 2007.

In 2008, Mr. Klein accepted an offer by Grant CCSD 110 to be the Principal at Illini Elementary School in Fairview Heights. While serving as Principal, he continued his own education by earning an Education Specialist degree in 2014 from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.

He currently resides in O’Fallon, Illinois, with his twelve-year-old son who attends Fulton Junior High and his fourteen-year-old daughter who attends OTHS at the Milburn Campus. They enjoy family trips to various National Parks in the summer and local camping and hiking adventures in southern Illinois.

Mr. Klein is a dedicated educator who brings a lot of experience to Mascoutah Middle School. He is very excited to be a part of such a committed community of families and staff working to grow students into positive and productive members of society.

Ms. Karen Mulvihill, Assistant Principal

Ms. Karen Mulvihill, Assistant Principal

Ms. Karen Mulvihill is a Jerseyville Community High School Class of 1990 graduate. After graduation, she enlisted in the Army Reserves where she served for 8 years. She attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, earning a Bachelor of Science in Special Education and a Master of Science in Educational Administration.

Before joining the Mascoutah School District in 2008, she was a Special Education Teacher in Belleville and St. Louis and an Assistant Principal in St. Louis at Epworth School.

Ms. Mulvihill resides in Edwardsville, Illinois, with her son, who is in 8th grade and her daughter, who is a freshman at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and looks forward to many more years serving the students and families of the Mascoutah School District.

Mr. Stephen Sargent, Principal

Mr. Stephen Sargent, Assistant Principal

Mr. Stephen Sargent is a seasoned educator holding a Master's degree in Education from Northwest Missouri State University and a Master's degree in Sport Management from Northern Illinois University. With a strong background in teaching, sports management, and educational leadership, Mr. Sargent has had a remarkable career.

His teaching experience spans across Central Middle School (St. Louis) and Riverview Gardens High School. While at Riverview Gardens High School, Mr. Sargent played a pivotal role in overseeing the JAG program (Jobs for America's Graduates), where he dedicated himself to working with at-risk students who faced challenges in graduating from high school. In this capacity, he provided transformative experiences to equip them for future career opportunities and further education.

Currently residing in O'Fallon, Illinois, Mr. Sargent cherishes precious moments with his son, who has just started Kindergarten this year. He finds joy in spending quality time with his family and friends. Looking ahead, Mr. Sargent is enthusiastic about continuing to serve the students and families of the Mascoutah School District for many more years to come.

Mr. Chris Lindsay, Dean of Students and MMS Director of Athletics

Mr. Chris Lindsay, Dean of Students and MMS Director of Athletics

Mr. Chris Lindsay is a Mascoutah Community High School Class of 1986 graduate. After graduation, he played college football and wrestled for two years before transferring to Southern Illinois University Carbondale, earning a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a minor in Physical Education.

Before joining the Mascoutah School District in 1993, Chris was a Physical Education Teacher and Coach at Harmony Emge-Ellis in Belleville for two years. Chris just finished his 26th year in the Mascoutah School District. Besides teaching for all of those years, he has been a head football coach for four years, a head wrestling coach since joining the district, and is currently still the head wrestling coach at Mascoutah High School. He has also been a recipient of the Golden Apple Award for teaching.

Mr. Lindsay resides in Mascoutah, Illinois, with his wife Michelle. His son, Zach, graduated from UMSL with a Biology Degree and was a member of the baseball team. Zach is currently studying at GOLDFARB graduating in December with his BSN in Nursing. His Daughter, Megan, is a senior at Murray State University studying speech communication disorders and is a member of the volleyball team.

Chris enjoys spending time with family and friends, golfing, and looks forward to many more years serving the students and families of the Mascoutah School District.
