The Student Council is a school service organization designed to provide an opportunity for student involvement. Members are expected to participate in various service projects, display and encourage school spirit and pride, accept responsibility, and set an example of positive behavior for other students.
Student Council members are selected from the student body through an application process at the beginning of the school year. In order to remain active in Student Council throughout the year, members must earn a grade of C or higher in every class, display a positive attitude in the classroom and towards all teachers and staff members, as well as comply with all school rules and regulations.
Some of the activities Student Council organizes and sponsors include the following: all-school skating parties, Spring Dance, food and clothing drives for the needy in our area, concessions stand at home basketball games, candy grams at Christmas and Valentine's Day, appreciation gifts for teachers, and recycling projects.
